It’s not what, or how, or even when…
On the brink of a New Moon, we are in the darkest part of the lunar cycle, but I made a promise to only deliver life changing words & teachings this year, so here goes nothing… this may sting…
The only reason you’re not making the money you want to make is because you’re not applying yourself.
There, I said it.
You can get pissed off and stop reading, or you can take a deep breath and lead yourself to back to your power.
Self-development, fulfilment, Soul-manifestations, whatever you want to call this “work” that we do, has to start with self-admittance.
NOTHING will change unless you can firstly acknowledge that there’s a problem, and the problem is fundamentally you.
Whether its your beliefs holding your back, decisions you’ve made that have led you off course, or circumstances you find yourself in that are less than desirous, it’s all your own doing, and it continues to be all your own choice.
We can give our power away to excuses with classic statements like…
- when the baby is sleeping through the night, i’ll start working out again
- when i’ve hit my first 10k month, i’ll join that mastermind
- when i’ve paid off all my credit cards, i’ll allow myself to invest
- when i’ve signed up just 2 more clients (which then becomes 3, then 4 etc), i’ll hire some help
- when my clients have paid me, i’ll be able to pay my coach
or we’ll use ignorance as an excuse with more Oscar-worthy classics like…
- i don’t know how to sell or put my work out there
- i don’t know what i’m doing or how to run a “proper” business
- i don’t know the right people or how to meet those people
- i don’t anything about “insert thing you know would help”
- i don’t know how i’m going to pay for “insert thing you know would help”
The thing is with these statements, is that they’re all focused on the what, the how, or the when.
Asking what, how, or when, doesn’t get you anywhere. If anything it just keeps your power firmly in the hands of someone or something else. The power is not yours, and so you perpetuate your own cycle of not applying yourself, not doing the things that stretch and even scare you, and bemoan the same questions over and over again, never asking the one that matters.
WHO.
Who am I choosing to be? Who do I need to be to get to where I want to be? Who do I need to be to navigate my current reality? Who do I need to be to create the reality I desire?
WHO.
There’s only one answer:
A leader.
Specifically a leader of Self.
A Queen, a Priestess, a Warrior… but a leader of self.
Women in business spend far too much time chasing the how’s and the what’s, forever battling against the enemy time bombs called when’s, failing time and time again to ask WHO.
The more we chase the elusive cash-figure months and other statistics which we’re sure will validate our self-worth and provide that much more happiness in our lives, the more frustrated we become that we’re still not ‘there’.
Again forgetting that the destination is not “there”, it is “who”.

And we have to start ASKING BETTER QUESTIONS.
We’ve created our own trap in the self-development world. It’s great that we all want to “get ahead”. I’m so freaking proud of us for wanting to be better, do better, and have better, but at what cost?
This is not to say you can’t have all you desire and more. Of course you can!! But it won’t come from this perpetual chase you’re in. From constantly drawing lines in the sand and declaring this is my month, this is my year, this is the breakdown that’s going to deliver THE breakthrough!
We must stop looking for a saviour outside of ourselves. THIS IS NOT SELF-LEADERSHIP.
I won’t allow you to harm yourself any more Queen. Enough self-harm disguised as self-development.
You’re not applying yourself in any way that makes a difference, or in any way that matters.
Chasing the elusive how, what, when is slowly killing you, and you can see you’re not getting the results you want right? It’s slow. And painful. And not what you imagined.
That’s OK. Under these cosmic skies we get to witness the parts of ourselves we’ve banished to the underworld. And reclaim her.
This is how the “who” question begins.
Who are you? Which parts of you have you banished? Are you who you want to be?
Who is going to lead you to your dreams & desires?
Mama Queen. There’s only one leader for your life. There’s only one mama capable of birthing, nurturing, and holding it all. There’s only one who really knows the inner workings of her Queendom. There’s only one who can call the shots. There’s only one who can lead with grace, humility, and fierce self-witnessing.
The only one for you, is you. ALL OF YOU. Including the parts you’ve dismissed.
