Why oh why for the love of all things Divine, do we sabotage ourselves?! And what’s with the debilitating running commentary we subscribe to on a regular basis?!
If you’ve been doing life this last two months, you’ve probably experienced at least one crazy episode of self sabotage, negative self-talk, and/or manifested a negative distracting drama into your life.
Am I right or am I right?
It’s what we do best! God damn human egos.
The ego is carefully designed to keep us safe. Unfortunately the ego design flaw is in its capacity to pick up conditioning through warped cerebral perceptions… and these conditions are typically toxins disguised as safe boundaries.
And what happens when we absorb too many toxins?
Mama Universe steps in to knock ‘em out of us. Literally.
So you might have felt her shake you up recently, bringing SO MUCH CRAP to the surface, it made you want to vom.
But know that you’re only hearing and feeling all that crap because it’s ready to be released, and replaced by a new programme which will elevate you to the next level.
Unfortunately most people don’t respond well to the shake up, and the outcome is less than desirable, so next time, instead of diving for the duvet and completing another round of self-sabotage, here’s how to unpack and detox:
- Listen to the commentary inside your head and write it all down so you can see it on paper. Trust me it’s better out than in, and this will feel much better straight away.
- Recognise that everything on that paper doesn’t serve you and it’s there because it’s ready to be released.
- Speak out loud… “that’s all bullshit and not a word of it is true”.
- And it’s not true. Sit with that thought. All of life is an illusion. Nothing on that piece of paper is a fact.
- Create a new truth. Write down an equal and opposite statement for each of the nonsense sentences you wrote down the first time. For example, if you wrote “i feel like a fraud”, you might write “I’m the best at being me, and people love to pay me for it”.
- Give yourself time to let the old wash away and the new settle in. It’s not always instantaneous but you can guarantee this exercise will speed up the process.
- Start to look for evidence that the new is happening already. Affirm it and reaffirm it, and next time your ego flares up with some toxic shit, repeat this exercise.
Unpack, release, repeat!
You’re welcome.
Love always,
