On a fiery March afternoon in 2021, I was suddenly DONE with women straight up working themselves into the ground, playing the busy fool and martyring themselves in the name of #girlbossing – that trend has got a LOT to answer for.
I looked around me, at my clients, my audiences, my friends, my team, myself, and everyone was spent. The passion that started businesses was waning, the drive for change that got them out of bed in the morning was coming to a standstill and the harsh grip of burnout was burning us all to the ground. Now I know March 2021 was slap bang in the middle of, shall we say, an “intense” time in history, BUT, this phenomenon pre-dated all that. This had been growing for a while, sewn by the seeds of hustle culture, success at all costs and “sleep when you’re dead” gurus (mostly men) shouting from the rooftops of the self development industry that we just need to want it a little more.
I was done. I called bullshit. And I threw a fiery, confrontational masterclass together in one afternoon (I know, SO unlike me!)
