Somethings Gotta Give
In class this week I spoke of a negative core belief we all share, the “I can’t have it all, it has to be either/or” belief. Even as I taught it for the millionth time, I could feel the trigger beginning to stir inside me. The tell tale pang of knowing I’ve been limiting my energy, expression & desire somewhere in my second energy body. Eep.
As a mother of 2 small children, (Ostara is 3 years and Odin is 7 months), an entrepreneur with 3 businesses, a music school, a dance & yoga studios, and my coaching company, Ask Harriette, having just moved into a beautiful mansion home that I’m desperate to renovate and make our own, whilst ALSO planning for and paying for a £100,000 wedding… the old negative narrative of “something has to give” has been creeping in lately. That either/or story of I have to choose one thing over another. I have to make the trade off.
Some context for you:
We recently sold our beautiful Audi R8 supercar. It’s a sexy 2 seater which Stephen and I had a blast in, BUT (and I can’t believe I’m this woman now), it’s not practical with 2 small children, both of whom require car seats. So we’ve been looking at sexy four seaters with room for functioning car seats to have alongside our beloved Range Rover Velar (it’s such a countryside mum car and I love it!). I’ve got my eye on a Porsche but it’s a cool £110,000.
This house we just moved into is practically perfect in every way. We’re so blessed that we moved straight into a modern home that requires no work to it at all, BUT, if you know me at all, you’ll know I like everything to be extra haha, and so I’ve designed an orangery extension in my mind to square off the kitchen, add an inside/outside dining room with roof lantern, AND have a dedicated glass room (temperature controlled obvs) for my grand piano. We’re looking at around £250,000 for that.
Then there’s the rest of the wedding to pay for (and plan).
Aaaaannnd all the investments I want to make in all 3 businesses to see them grow to the next level.
And if that wasn’t enough, business baby number 4 is stirring in my womb, kicking me to come into manifestation. My Education Foundation which I intend to build in order to completely revolutionise education for our children, because we all know it’s needed. Desperately!
Now I’m the Money Consciousness Queen. If anyone has mastered money flow, it’s me. I’ve proved it time and time and time again.
BUT.
Money Consciousness Flow with two tiny children on massively reduced working hours, and often functioning on minimal sleep (we’re talking sometimes as little as 2 to 3 hours a night), well that looks very different. This requires a whole new level of mastery, and depth of understanding.
Life looks very different now to how it was when I first catapulted my businesses to dizzying heights. The growth has slowed. I’m beginning to plateau. I know this is my either/or. This is the trade off. Do you know this place?
Fortunately I know exactly what is happening.
My next level of impossible is on my heart and Soul, impatiently trying to come through into manifestation, but as the energy begins to move, it hits my second energy body, “The Negative Self”, where the “I can’t have it all” core belief sits, and so the energy falters, dilutes, and only wisps of the energy make it through into manifestation. Hence the growth, but the much slower growth than what I know I’m capable of. Much slower than what I truly DESIRE.
We all do this. Whenever we get excited by the next level, we have to face the negative narratives of the second energy body. It requires strength, resilience, and energetic intelligence to recognise what is happening and move through it. It can often feel like moving through treacle. There are tears, meltdowns, endless stories of not enough ness, constantly scrolling through social media to find the person who has the answers and can help us, only to realise that no one has the magic answer and putting that expectation on someone to tell you what to do is a fools game. The answer is in the knowing. It’s in our own energetic intelligence.
We’re looking for the “thing” to break us through the breakdown. The antidote to our frustration.
There is no thing. At least not an external thing.
The thing, if anything, is our own self, specifically the Negative Self, our 2nd energy body.
It’s in recognising your trade off and choosing differently. It’s in recognising that new paradigms aren’t built on either/or, they’re built on both/and more.
It’s in the willingness to ask for help and support so that there is no trade off necessary.
It’s doing the things before you’re ready, before you can afford them, before you’ve figured out the how (spoiler: we never figure out the how, we just do it).
It’s in committing to mastering the next evolution of who you are.
You’ve never been her before. Of course you don’t know how. Of course it’s frustrating. Of course you’re banging your head against a wall.
You’re trying to figure out how to be someone you’ve never been whilst doing the same things you’ve always done.
If you want to BE someone different (your next level self), you have to DO different things. Take different actions. Do things you never would have done before.
Hire the help, choose the right mentor, get the support, pick up the phone, do whatever it takes to break the pattern you’re in. ASK FOR MORE.
