Don’t be at the mercy of the man in the suit

If you hadn’t noticed, I’m on one with the financial literacy conversation now!!

“I LOVE paying my taxes” said the coach with too much money and no financial literacy … “just learn to love paying your exorbitant taxes like meeeee ”

Um how bout no?! Do me a fucking favour.

Do you know how many times I’ve been fed this line by all the coaches I’ve worked with over the years? More fool me I actually used to lap it up until I ended up overpaying my taxes by 40k (just once) and scolded myself for losing myself so absurdly.

I’m a financial literacy genius. I don’t need to be told by anyone. Actually I’m the one usually to tell my accountants what to do and how to do it.

Thing is, if you don’t have a clue, you literally don’t have a clue, and you end up at the mercy of an accountant who may or more likely may NOT know the nuances, intricacies, and anomalies of the online female entrepreneur industries. We’re a very rare breed! And sadly very few of us are actually educated enough to take command of our finances.

A recent conversation with some of my highest level clients revealed they have little to no involvement with their bookkeeper and/or accountant. I’m not shaming. Not even close. I’m shining a light on the fact that this shit needs to change. And, well, apparently it’s me that’s going to attempt to provide that education from an experiential perspective only!!

When you’re financially literate you can intentionally fluctuate your profit margins, your withdrawals, your investments, and leverage both your credit & tax positions to finance your big life choices, whether that’s paying for your big white wedding, buying your next level home, purchasing a second car (or better yet a super car… I say better because of the financial genius available in super car purchases, not because I believe super cars are actually a superior purchase, unless of course you’re a petrol head…. I digress!!).

When you’re financially literate you can reduce the feelings of being raped by your government. Yes I said it. And let’s be honest unless you’ve been brainwashed into this “yay I love paying my taxes” crap, handing over 6, multiple-6, and 7 figures on a regular basis fucking stings. In fact handing over 4 and 5 figures stings when you’ve got other things you’d much rather be spending that money on.

And can anyone say hand on heart they stand behind everything their government does with that hard earned tax money? Nah, didn’t think so.

I’m over the “taxes are taxes you just have to pay em” nonsense. You can get educated and then have control over how much you’re paying, and when, and why.

I am absolutely NOT advocating for breaking the law in any way. If taxes are due, taxes are due and need to be paid. I won’t open conspiracy theory rabbit holes.

But I am advocating for your empowered knowledge & financial literacy, and the look on your accountants face when you deliver him the education of their life!

Don’t let the financial world be an excuse for you to become a wet drip and simper around in frilly blouses at the mercy of a white man in a suit who knows jack shit but has the confidence to swing his 🍆 whilst knocking out all your cash reserves in one idiotic move.

My love always,

Harriette
